Editor of Yes! magazine posts note that she is stepping down to "go look for hope." There's some level of irony that said looking will be accomplished by means of petroleum-powered conveyance, and the thing we most need to find hope for is the survival of humanity after global warming.

I finished "The Water Knife" recently, and wow, that was... depressing. I forgot to do what I've generally done for years now with fiction books, which is to read the ending before I buy it.  I don't buy fiction books that have depressing endings. I can get enough depressing endings just by looking around.
